  • Through automated technologies through which we scan employee emails and other correspondence to tell us about patterns, unauthorised communication, etc. We use SMARSH to review emails.

 

For employees we collect additional information as set out below:

  • Through third parties such as background check companies we use as part of our onboarding process or recruiters.

 

The background check company may provide us with the following:

  • Employment history.
  • Educational history.
  • Financial information.
  • Historical information (relating to negative news searches)
  • Criminal information.

 

The recruiters may provide us with the following:

  • Name.
  • Phone number, address and any other contact details.
  • Employment history and Educational history.

 

We also collect the following information from you which is referred to as a special category of personal data because it is sensitive information about you and will require special protections. The information we collect is in relation to your:

  • Race.
  • Ethnicity.
  • Religious or philosophical beliefs.

 

We are able to process this information because (i) the processing is necessary in order that we can comply with our rights and obligations, or those of the individual, in relation to employment law, social protection law or social security law, or (ii) the processing is necessary in relation to legal proceedings, for obtaining legal advice, or otherwise for establishing, exercising or defending legal rights.

We have contractual and legal basis to do so. It is necessary for us to carry out our obligations under your employment rights and other legal requirements.

Quantbot Technologies Limited will transfer information intra group to Quantbot Technologies LP. The regulations which have been put in place to protect your privacy apply throughout the EEA. About the Job

Quantbot Technologies, LP is seeking a dedicated and motivated summer intern to join us at our New York office. We are a registered investment advisor managing a multi-billion dollar global portfolio using quantitative techniques. We develop fully automated investment strategies that leverage statistical arbitrage themes to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns over a multi-year period.


By leveraging statistical arbitrage themes, Quantbot develops fully automated investment strategies to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns over a multi-year period. The company maintains and supports over a petabyte of market, historical and derived data for use in research and trading, and their in-house regional operation teams monitor and help strategists implement their strategies on a global scale. Founded in 2009, Quantbot currently has offices in New York, London, Hong Kong, and Miami with over 60 employees working at an office or remotely. Responsibilities

Your responsibilities could include:

  • Read and synthesize assigned finance research papers
  • Test research on real datasets and analyze validity of research via alpha generation and backtesting using various modeling methods
  • Data quality checking and improvement
  • Creating and editing documentation on research process and results
  • Interacting across teams to help implement research-tested solutions
  • Be working with a global team under mentorship of experienced mentors and analysts

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an academic program pursuing Bachelor/ Masters/ PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics degree, or any other applicable STEM degree
  • Highly motivated and proactive
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Solid background in Statistics
  • Able to demonstrate problem solving and coding skills in at least one programming/scripting language
  • At least some knowledge of current data science techniques
