On March 13, 2019, Quantbot Technologies was represented at MIT's Finance Research Practicum final presentation session at the MIT campus in Boston. As sponsors of the prestigious practicum this year, two of our employees mentored two separate groups of interns in their research projects through the first two months of 2019. One group focused on Fundamentals Nowcasting and the other worked on an Analysis of Commitments of Traders Reports for Commodities and Financial Futures. While in Boston we had an opportunity to not only see the results of the projects we participated in, but see and learn about every other research project as well. From Machine Learning techniques to ESG analysis, the students tackled interesting and varied research projects for the practicum, and we are excited to have been a sponsor this year.

Our CEO gave a seminar in February 2019 about the linkage between physics and quantitative finance to students at the University of Bonn in Germany. The lecture was followed by lively Question and Answer session since many in the audience realized for the first time the close connection between, for example, black-sholes and the heat equation.
Happy 30th Anniversary to Schonfeld!
